Ida Ali and Aaliyah Kashyap open up about traumatic childhood incidents.
Director Imtiaz Ali’s daughter Ida Ali and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s daughter Aaliyah Kashyap, who share a deep bond, revisited a traumatic childhood incident on a podcast. Speaking on Aaliyah’s show, the childhood friends recalled being held hostage as kids by their house-help during a robbery attempt at Aaliyah’s place.
As per Aaliyah’s narration, both lived in the same building as kids. With their parents stepping out together, Aaliyah’s nani and their didi cared for them. However, the house help tied the minors to a chair after locking the elderly woman and taping their mouths.
In a terrified state, the duo cried as valuables were stolen. Thankfully, 15 minutes later, Aaliyah’s mother returned and discovered the traumatic scene. Their families were alerted and rushed over in a panic.
Ida said they now consider it a shared “fun story.” Though the experience must have been petrifying for young children, Aaliyah mentioned relief at not going through it alone.
The podcast saw the childhood sisters open up about trauma bonding and recall the unfortunate hostage episode from their past. It highlighted the deep bond the daughters of eminent filmmakers share, even dealing with difficult memories together.
