Aanand L Rai drops hints about Tere Ishq Mein’s cast and plot.
Filmmaker Aanand L Rai has addressed speculation around the cast of his upcoming romantic drama Tere Ishq Mein while assuring that an official announcement is imminent.
In a recent interview with Zoom, he replied to rumors linking Triptii Dimri to the female lead, stating “Let speculation thrive, the cast will be revealed soon.”
Set to start after Dhanush wraps prior commitments, Tere Ishq Mein has been in the works since 2021. Rai opened up about comparisons with his 2013 hit Raanjhanaa starring Dhanush in a leading role.
While acknowledging similarities in the creative team, the director said Tere Ishq Mein presented a new story. “It expands the emotions of Raanjhanaa in a different narrative,” he elaborated.
In a prior interview with News18 Showsha, Rai had delved deeper into revisiting the genre. Explaining his growth, he expressed excitement about exploring relationships from a mature angle.
On retaining the core flavors of Raanjhanaa, Rai affirmed the new film belonged to its universe albeit a separate tale. He also shared confidence in Dhanush delivering a richer performance years after their collaboration.
With an illustrious track record together, the director-actor duo will hopefully enthrall audiences with Tere Ishq Mein slated to commence work soon.
