From TV Star to Corporate Titan: Aashka Goradia’s Remarkable Journey.
In a remarkable turn of events, a former television star has emerged as a trailblazing entrepreneur, transforming her passion for beauty into a thriving business empire. Aashka Goradia, once a household name on the small screen, has now established Renee Cosmetics, a cosmetics brand worth a staggering ₹1300 crore.
Goradia’s journey in the entertainment industry began in 2002 with the show “Achanak 37 Saal Baad,” but it was her role as Kumud in Ekta Kapoor’s “Kkusum” that catapulted her to fame.
Over the years, she went on to appear in several other popular television shows, including “Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka,” “Viruddh,” and “Naagin,” as well as reality programs like “Bigg Boss” and “Khatron Ke Khiladi.” Undoubtedly, she had become one of the highest-paid TV stars, commanding a significant following.
Renee Cosmetics, an internet-first brand, quickly gained traction, offering a range of eye makeup, lip colors, skin serums, and highlighters. The brand’s rapid growth during the pandemic was truly remarkable, with its valuation crossing the $100 million mark in 2022.
As of 2024, Entrackr reports that Renee Cosmetics is now worth around $155 million (₹1300 crore), positioning it as a formidable competitor to established Indian cosmetic giants like Nykaa and Sugar Cosmetics.
The brand’s success is evident in its impressive financials. Renee Cosmetics has raised a total funding of $48.5 million (over ₹400 crore) over five rounds, and in 2021, it was recognized as India’s Most Trusted Brand at the CNBC Most Trusted Brands of India awards.
As Renee Cosmetics continues to soar, Goradia has also found personal fulfillment, marrying American businessman Brent Goble in 2017 and welcoming their first child, a son, in October 2023.
