Responding to recent rumors, the actor dismissed rumors of problems between him and his actress wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, in a recent interview with Bollywood UK Media. The couple has been married for 17 years, and recently, some changes in actions on social networks and in public spaces were considered a sign of conflict.
But, basking in the future speculations was delightful, or at least that was what Abhishek had to say about the rumors. What do you have to say to all of you regarding those rumors? Oh, sorry, you all have blown the entire thing out of proportion, or rather sadly, I understand why you do it; you have to file some stories – it is okay; after all, we are celebrities, we have to take it, he said. To support his statement, Abhishek wore his wedding ring during the interview.
The power couple, who has a daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, was much into the limelight, but in recent years, they have become more private. Interactions on social media have mostly been restricted to birthdays and anniversaries, and while the two may not date, they have never taken a break from offering professional support to each other.
Abhishek was present during the making and release of Aishwarya’s recent movie, Ponniyin Selvan, along with her, and Aishwarya was present with the rest of the Bachchan family at the premiere of her nephew Agastya Nanda’s The Archies.
Though there are small controversies in the media regarding them, both Abhishek and Aishwarya have responded very actively and firmly for their relationship and for their family. Abhishek more recently went to the Olympics in Paris alone, where he was seen supporting Indian athletes, including Neeraj Chopra, the javelin thrower; this too highlights that the couple has resumed living independent lives with great dignity.
The pair repeatedly shows that rumors concerning the state of their marriage and, indeed, their love life are mere myths as they continue to uphold their career and family as the key priorities in their lives.
