Actor Anjum Batra shares memorable encounter with Shah Rukh Khan at Mannat

The actor Anjum Batra, who has gained fame and popularity through his character of Kesar Singh Tikki in the movie ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, recently unveiled an interesting explanation of how he first met Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan at Mannat, the residence of Shah Rukh in Mumbai. Anjum had earlier helped to transact the Punjabi lines in the movie “Jab Harry Met Sejal,” directed by Imtiaz Ali, given to Shah Rukh. The warm and friendly comfort he had received from Shah Rukh during their conversations especially made an enduring impression on him.

Talking to TV9 from the earlier memory, Anjum shared in Hindi, “I met Imtiaz for the first time in 2016 during the shooting of ‘JabHTamil Met Sejal.’ Shah Rukh needed to work on his lines in Punjabi, and Imtiaz took me to Mannat, A hillside residence where we spent the entire night”.

Anjum said they were within an hour before midnight when they reached Mannat, followed by a 15 minutes later Shah Rukh joining them after completing his movie shoot. Anjum was having a paroxysm of emotions when Shah Ruhk invited him to reside in front of me and also hand him a meal. It proved the dawn of a new dawn for Anjum for the feeling of friendships was a stranger where there had been certain hostility for a long time. Terry became Shah Rukh’s brother at night, and there were enough clothes to wear during the day. Even when he kept many people around him, he accompanied them to their cars, bidding them farewell.

This eventful meeting captured not only Shah Rukh Khan’s warmness and ability to make his guests feel content but also deduced that he is a perfect host as Anjum Batra still remembers his soul-winning hospitality.
