aespa’s unreleased track “Eyes Scream” sparks viral buzz

The popular girl group aespa in K-pop is home to Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning, who constantly shoot powerful hits such as “Black Mamba” and “Supernova.” Not long after the hot topic of their albums and singles, an unreleased song that included Giselle and Ningning started to go viral. It was tentatively titled “Eyes Scream,” a song combined with an addictive melody and an interesting rap.

A video surfaced through social media, showing the work of the two with English lyrics. In the video, the two shared parts of their recording session, further giggling with the fans and creating a rather intimate atmosphere. However, it was the ending lyrics that got everyone talking as Ningning wrapped up with, “Ugly people suck.”

These bold lyrics have led many to speculate that the track might be a diss song. Some notable lines include, “I’m looking fly babe, you’re just driving. Don’t look so ugly,” and “That’s so gross like your f**king toes,” along with a jab at UGG boots, “Those uggs they don’t look good.”

Because the song has not been released, the lyrics are unconfirmed. However, the video has quickly made its way around social media as fans attempt to decipher what the lyrics mean. According to a Breitbart News translation, one fan said, “Mommy, all these people talking shit oh fake news,” while another exclaimed, “Ningselle made a diss track.”

The members of aespa have grown a bond over the years, very supportive, showing friendship and teamwork. Formed under SM Entertainment, the group made quite a big impact within the K-pop industry for its very innovative concept and diverse talents. In the leadership of Karina, the talent of Winter, Giselle, and Ningning together brings their own flair.

Other releases by aespa include “Next Level,” “Drama,” “Girls,” “Armageddon,” and “Whiplash” from their very first single, “Black Mamba.” Outside of the group effort, each of its members has been doing quite well on their own, hence finding their place within such a competitive musical environment.
