Alia Bhatt has recently taken to social media to address ongoing speculation regarding her appearance and unfounded cosmetic surgery claims. In a detailed note shared on her Instagram story, the actress confronted trolls and critics who have circulated misleading articles and videos suggesting that her expressions indicate improper use of Botox.
Expressing her frustration over accusations regarding a “crooked smile” and a “weird way of speaking,” Bhatt criticized the casual nature of such serious claims made without any evidence. She highlighted the harmful impact of these rumors, particularly on young, impressionable individuals who might take such “clickbait” seriously.
In her message, Alia Bhatt stated, “Absolutely NO JUDGEMENT towards anyone who chooses cosmetic corrections or surgery—your body, your choice. But wow, this is beyond ridiculous! To the random video floating around literally claiming I’ve had Botox gone wrong (and the numerous clickbait articles) — I have a ‘crooked smile’ and a ‘weird way of speaking,’ according to YOU.
This hypercritical, microscopic judgment of a human face is absurd. Now, you’re confidently tossing around ‘scientific’ explanations, claiming I’m paralyzed on one side? Are you kidding me? These are serious claims thrown out there with zero proof and no confirmation.”
She further emphasized the need to challenge the unrealistic standards imposed on women, saying, “What’s worse is that you’re influencing young minds who might believe this garbage. Why are you saying this? For clickbait? Attention? None of it makes sense. Women are judged and objectified online for their appearances, bodies, and personal lives. We should be celebrating individuality, not tearing it apart. These judgments perpetuate unrealistic standards, making people feel inadequate. It’s damaging and exhausting.”
Alia also expressed disappointment that much of this judgment comes from other women, questioning, “Whatever happened to ‘live and let live’? To ‘everyone has the right to their own choices’? Instead, we’ve become accustomed to picking each other apart to the point where it feels normalized. Meanwhile, it’s just another day of entertainment with scripts made up by the Internet.”
On the professional front, Alia Bhatt was last seen in Vasan Bala’s Jigra alongside Vedang Raina. Upcoming projects include Alpha and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, where she will star with her husband Ranbir Kapoor and former co-star Vicky Kaushal.
