Come Friday, Jigra will have Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina in lead roles. A special screening was held in Mumbai on Wednesday night, at which some prominent faces marked their presence. Alia reached the venue with her sister Shaheen. She was seen wearing a fancy black top with denim and hair tied in a neat bun.
Alia’s mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor, was also present to show her support, as was Vedang Raina, who plays Alia’s sibling in the film. Khushi Kapoor, rumoured to be dating Vedang, brought a matching vibe in black as the evening got stylish. Other stars who joined the screening were Rashmika Mandanna, Radhika Madan, and Abhimanyu Dasani. The film’s co-producer Karan Johar made a stylish entry as he joined another co-star, Akansha Ranjan.
In an interview recently, Alia Bhatt was all praises for Vedang, as she said that he reminds her of Ranveer Singh, whom she has shared screen space with both in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Gully Boy by Zoya Akhtar. She said, “Vedang is fabulous. He is amazing.
I don’t think he knows how amazing he is.” Alia remembered a crucial scene where Vedang showed his emotional range and said, “One good thing is that you cry prettily, which is a plus for a Hindi film hero. He is hardworking, intuitive, and prepared.”
Jigra is the second production of Alia Bhatt, who, after the success of her Netflix thriller-comedy Darlings in 2022, announced this project in co-production with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and directed by Vasan Bala.
