Ananya Panday lends voice to Riley in the Hindi version of ‘Inside Out 2.’
Bollywood actor Ananya Panday will voice the lead character Riley in the Hindi dubbed version of Disney-Pixar’s animated sequel ‘Inside Out 2’. In the 2015 prequel, Riley’s emotions, like Joy, Sadness, etc., were visualized as she navigated childhood. The forthcoming film now delves into her teen years with the introduction of feelings like Anxiety, Envy, and others.
Reminiscing about being a teenager during the first film’s release, Ananya said voicing Riley allowed her to relive those moments. She thanked the opportunity to be part of such an impactful story centered on feelings.
Director Kelsey Mann drew from his own experiences to highlight the emotional turbulence of adolescence. Ananya’s role assumes significance, and the depiction is upgraded to account for teenage emotional complexities.
Maya Hawke lends voice to Anxiety in the original alongside veterans Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, and Tony Hale, reprising classic roles.
With a construction team overhauling Riley’s headquarters to welcome new emotions, Joy and the old crew must adjust to unexpected changes. The June 14 release promises sincerity with a feel-good narrative and aims to enrich conversations around teenage well-being globally.
For Ananya, dubbing for the much-awaited sequel’s Hindi version is a dream project that allows revisiting poignant phases of life through the film’s experiential storytelling.
