The CTRL, the new film from Ananya, premiered on Netflix on October 4th, a night after a special screening hosted by the makers. Seen gracing the event with their presence were Ananya’s close friends, Suhana Khan and Navya Nanda.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Suhana posted moments from the night while joking that both Ananya and Navya “control” her happiness and life. The trio twinned in white, with smiling faces for the camera. Suhana’s post read, “Ananya Panday and Navya Nanda ‘CTRL my life and happiness’ (tongue out emoji). CTRL on Netflix!!”
CTRL, Starring Ananya, is a Vikramaditya Motwane-directed film about Nella Awasthi, who’s reeling with what follows after a very painful breakup. To blot out memories of their ex-boyfriend Joe, she clings to an application of Artificial Intelligence. However, things take a turn as the app starts taking control of everything in Nella’s space.
Ananya discusses her survival tips for breakups in real life, stating that she completely relies on her “real friends” in those situations. “I only lean on my real-life friends. As Nella proved during the film, relying on AI and digital solutions is not a pretty good idea. I stick to the physical friendships.”
Ananya spoke about what excites her to play Nella: “CTRL is interesting and impactful, and it makes you wonder if you are in control of your life. With the pace at which technology advances and with which we become a slave, I feel that this film has connected well with everyone.
No other platform could have done such an engaging narrative justice than Netflix.”. On the other hand, Suhana Khan, recently seen on Netflix in the series The Archies, will also be part of King along with her father, Shah Rukh Khan.
