Ayesha Kapoor reveals harsh realities of the film industry

Every year, several aspiring actors enter the world of cinema to become stars, with a passion for acting that drives them into the fray. Though known for its charm and glamour, the film world is equally infamous for its ruthless competition and host of problems. One such actress who has faced this complexity head-on is Ayesha Kapoor, who, being a well-known TV star, has gone through some major hurdles in her journey.

Undeterred since childhood, Kapoor found her path to representation several times hindered by visible and invisible impediments. Kapoor speaks candidly about the often harsh realities masked by the greasepaint of showbiz regarding the early days of her career. Sharing how, after being offered a lead role in a show, the initial excitement was quickly dimmed when the realization came that there was an unbelievable, shocking condition attached to the opportunity.

The struggle to find a foothold in this industry is daunting, and that was the case with Ayesha Kapoor. Ayesha started her career with the serial Office Scandal and gained fame and name recognition as Nikki in the much-liked series Sherdil Shergill. After her hard work in several web series and television shows, huge pressure and manipulation from industry figures were applied.

One of the worst experiences Kapoor had to deal with was a producer promising her a high life if she married him in return for work. She told him straight that marriage was not one of those conditions she would entertain, and for that, she got to know that she was off the film. Looking back on her journey, she said, “I always wanted to be an actress, but my journey was not easy. People I met in the beginning misled me.”

Ayesha Kapoor was last seen in the mini-TV series He Said She Said, directed by Rafiq Abdul Wahab, with Himanshu Bamzai and Anurag Mishra in lead roles. Her experiences bring into sharp focus how ruthless the film world often is in the quest for success.
