‘Bad Newz’ box office: Slight uptick after initial dip

Unexpectedly, the newly released movie ‘Bad Newz’ has reported an increase in the collections at the box office after they reduced on Monday. As it is gathered from Sacnilk. On moviem. Com, the movie grosses more than 36,630,150 INR only on the Indian screens since the start of its theatrical release on July 19.

Box office receipts have shown a rather volatile trend in this film’s case. ‘Bad Newz’ raked in Rs 8 on its first release day. Related to it is the call drop charge, where customers were charged ₹3 crore as the penalty down from ₹10.

25 crore on the second day, and ₹11. On the third day, the collection was 15 crore. Nonetheless, the collections came down to ₹ 3. 5 crore on the fourth day and at the end of the week was 1 crore.

Notably, the fifth day, which is Tuesday, seems to have slightly revived where the film raked in ₹3. It is expected to gross an SS 75 crore net in India alone in the early estimates. This takes the country’s gross receipts of ‘Bad Newz’ to thirty-six crore rupees. 95 crore so far.

The Hindi bookings for the film were steady overall on Tuesday, and a total of 13 percent occupancy was recorded. 77% of customers denote that there is still hope for the restaurant to keep performing well.

Delayed by Anand Tiwari, ‘Bad Newz’ is written by Amritpal Singh Bindra, Apoorva Mehta, and Karan Johar. Major actors include Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, Ammy Virk, and Neha Dhupia, with special appearances by Ananya Pandey and Neha Sharma.

The movie is not your regular romance comedy, exploring the subject of heteropaternal superfecundation. The review mentioned that it is perhaps not the comedians’ best work, however, the makers have put in quite funny meta jokes and references, for instance Burr’s character being called “Bhabhi 2” and “National Crush” and the funny dialogues spoken by the lead actors.

Securing a place in the box office collection, ‘Bad Newz’ has yet to maintain its upward scale; hence, the industrial eye will be on it in the coming days.
