In a festive surprise for NFL fans, Beyoncé took center stage at the Super Bowl halftime show on December 25, captivating her hometown audience in Houston. The performance marked a significant moment as it featured songs from her 2024 hit album, Cowboy Carter, in front of a live crowd for the first time, spreading holiday cheer throughout the stadium.
Beyoncé’s set had some star-studded guests, hailing from the likes of Post Malone, Shaboozey, to her very own daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. The pop queen also gave the audience an idea of the rising lot of country music stars, inviting on stage singers Tanner Adell, Tiera Kennedy, Reyna Roberts and Brittney Spencer.
The show started with a riding-in-on-horseback introduction before a 12-minute performance that featured the tracks off of Cowboy Carter. Opening with a pre-recorded segment that showcased Beyoncé singing 16 Carriages while riding an impressive white horse, the show moved into the collaborative cover of The Beatles classic, Blackbird.
As the live segment kicked off, Beyoncé dazzled in a white leotard, performing her Grammy-nominated hit, Ya Ya, alongside a vibrant ensemble of dancers and musicians. The excitement continued as Shaboozey joined her for Spaghetti, while Post Malone made his entrance to perform Levii’s Jeans.
The halftime show was full of chart-toppers, from Jolene to the monster hit Tex Hold ‘Em, ending with Beyoncé rising to the rafters as she told the crowd, “Merry Christmas, God bless you all.”
This is not Beyoncé’s first rodeo at an NFL marquee event; she performed at the 2013 Super Bowl in New Orleans and then with Coldplay and Bruno Mars during the 2016 Super Bowl.
