Billie Eilish regrets openness about her dating life

Billie Eilish, a Grammy-winning artist, expressed regret for being so candid about her sexuality and dating life; she stated that she wished everything about it had remained private. In the November cover story of Vogue, 22-year-old singer Billie Eilish says, “I wish no one knew anything about my sexuality or anything about my dating life. Ever, ever, ever. And I hope they never will again.”

Eilish emphasized how these aspects of her life are to remain in the closet, proclaiming, “And I’m never talking about my sexuality ever again. And I’m never talking about who I’m dating ever again.”

Eilish had spoken openly of her attraction toward women in an interview for the Variety The Power of Women issue last year. However, she was unprepared for the attention that came with those comments. She claimed she had been naive about how candid comments would affect her public persona: “And I said some s*** that was blown into the biggest news of the whole world.”

She has been linked to Jesse Rutherford, whom she reportedly dated for eight months before the two broke up in May. She also dated actor Matthew Tyler Vorce from April 2021 until May 2022, over a year into their relationship.

After years of keeping mum, in her Apple TV+ documentary Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry, she let loose about her relationship with Brandon Q. Adams, aka 7:AMP. Speaking to the same press scrutiny of her dating life, Eilish mentioned in the 2021 Elle interview, “Like, oh yeah, that’s everybody else’s business, right? No. Where’s that energy with men? I just wanted to make a song once and then kept making songs. I never said, ‘Hey, pay attention to my life.'”
