Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan put rumours about his ill health to rest on Sunday after being spotted enjoying the Indian Street Premiere League (ISPL) 2024 final in Mumbai.
Earlier in the day, several reports had claimed that the 81-year-old actor had been admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital for an angioplasty procedure. However, hospital sources later clarified to News18 that Bachchan was only there for a routine medical check-up.
Videos from the ISPL final that are now viral on social media show Bachchan enthusiastically cheering for the home team, Majhi Mumbai, in the stands with their son Abhishek. In one video, he can also be seen conversing with cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.
When asked about his health by someone in the crowd while leaving the stadium after the match, Bachchan gestured that he was fine. He further dismissed the earlier hospital reports verbally, saying, “Fake news.”
Bachchan had undergone wrist surgery earlier this year but has continued shooting for his upcoming projects. These include the multi-lingual film Kalki 2898 AD, co-starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. The veteran actor also has Section 84 and the Hindi remake of The Intern in the pipeline.
