Brandon Sklenar is defending his “It Ends With Us” co-star Blake Lively amid her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni. Sklenar-who starred as Atlas Corrigan in the movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name-took to social media on Monday to address the situation.
Sklenar followed with a more emotional tone as he shared a screenshot of a New York Times article that published Lively’s allegations against Baldoni. He went to his Instagram story and begged his followers to “For the love of god read this,” tagging Lively, adding a red heart emoji in support of the actress.
This comes as Lively has filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing the filmmaker of sexual harassment during the filming of “It Ends With Us.” According to Lively, the situation escalated to such an extent that an all-hands meeting was convened to address what she described as a hostile work environment.
The actress also claimed Baldoni waged a “smear campaign” in order to sully her and bring massive emotional distress to her family. In response, attorney Bryan Freedman for Baldoni framed the lawsuit as an attempt by Lively to rehabilitate herself after her public feuding and called her claims “false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious.”.
Freedman went on to say that Lively had threatened not to come onto the set or promote the film, insinuating her actions led to the film’s poor performance at release. This whole situation has gained enough attention to shed light on the ongoing talks about workplace conduct and accountability within the industry.
