Chandrika Tandon wins Grammy for Triveni

Indian-American singer and business leader Chandrika Tandon added one more feather to her cap as she won a Grammy Award for her album Triveni in the Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album category. The 67th Grammy Awards were held on Sunday and were conducted by the Recording Academy at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Tandon, who has an equally impressive career as a global business leader and is the sister of former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, celebrated this win with her collaborators, South African flautist Wouter Kellerman and Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto. In an interview with the Recording Academy backstage, Tandon said, “It feels amazing.”

Other strong competitors in the Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album category included Break of Dawn by Ricky Kej, Opus by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Chapter II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn by Anoushka Shankar, and Warriors Of Light by Radhika Vekaria. Tandon added, “We had such great nominees in the category. So, to actually win this is just a very extra special moment for us because there were some fabulous musicians that were nominated along with us.”

The 2025 Grammy Awards will be available for live streaming on Disney+ Hotstar for viewers in India.
