Chrissy Teigen accuses Trump of orchestrating TikTok ban for political gain

Chrissy Teigen Accuses Trump of Orchestrating TikTok Ban for Political Gain.

In a dramatic turn of events, the United States witnessed the temporary shutdown of the popular social media platform TikTok over the weekend, sparking a flurry of reactions from celebrities and influencers.

On Saturday, TikTok went offline across the country, just moments before a federal law banning the app was set to take effect. This sudden blackout prompted an outpouring of responses, with many users expressing their disappointment and frustration.

Among the vocal critics was model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen, who took to her Instagram Stories to share her thoughts on the TikTok ban. Teigen accused former President Donald Trump of orchestrating the move as a calculated political tactic to boost his image.

Teigen suggested that Trump’s decision to ban TikTok was part of a larger strategy to later “bring it back” and position himself as a savior in the eyes of the younger generation. “It gets to be claimed by him as this amazing thing he did for people, and you’re all going to fall right into it,” Teigen wrote.

Shortly after Teigen’s comments, President-elect Trump announced that he had asked companies not to let “TikTok stay dark” and said he would sign an executive order to postpone the ban. This move further fueled Teigen’s suspicions about Trump’s alleged involvement in the TikTok saga.

In addition to her critique of the TikTok ban, Teigen also proposed a sweeping social media curfew, suggesting that the government or an ethics committee should “shut off social media between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.” This idea underscores Teigen’s broader concerns about the impact of social media on society.
