Dafne Keen stars as Padawan Jecki Lon in star wars: the acolyte

Star Wars debut series ‘The Acolyte’ features Dafne Keen as Padawan.

As Disney+ gears up for live-action exploration of the High Republic era with new mystery series ‘The Acolyte’, actress Dafne Keen has spoken about her character. The English actor, known for her role as X-23 in ‘Logan’, portrays Jecki Lon – a half-human, half-Theelin young Jedi Padawan under Sol.

In the teaser unveiled, combatants display lightsabers amidst unseen danger in forests. However, Keen described her on-set experience during an interview, admitting that prop lightsabers broke frequently on day one owing to her “short” height.

Fearing being “fired” due to costs to Disney, Keen felt embarrassment despite assurances. She mentioned her saber often hit the ground while spinning.

Subsequently, the crew provided a custom shorter blade suiting her 5’2″ frame to avoid looking silly with waist-level strikes.

Set during the prequel era, the Lee Jung-Jae starter follows revered Jedi Master Sol investigating a string of killings, uncovering sinister power challenging the Order’s balance.

The six-part series marks the live-action debut of the previously unexplored High Republic arc. It airs on Disney+ in two episodes on June 4.

While Keen’s humorous anecdote from the shoot hinted at her on-set adventures as the half-human Padawan, anticipation looms around the mystery show, which will unveil a fresh saga.
