Despite facing its high rates of pay, this year, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone tops the list of the highest-paid actress in Indian rupees in the year 2024.
Forbes magazine has recently created a list with the help of the IMDb platform, and Methil Devkar’s daughter has taken the highest position, beating such gorgeous and talented women as Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Deepika, it is rumored, now charges a whopping amount of Rs 15-30 crores per movie thus making her one the most demanded and paid stars of Bollywood. However, right behind her is Kangana Ranaut, who is charging a fee of 15-27 crores per film and will be soon seen in her next political thriller titled The Emergency.
Rounding up the top three is Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who commands anywhere between Rs 15-25 crores per film, this has been influenced by her Hollywood debut and her continuous success in Hollywood as well as Bollywood.
Joining the list and standing at 4th position is Katrina Kaif currently charges Rs 15-25 crore per film; at 5th position is Alia Bhatt, who demands Rs 10-20 crore per film.
The list, which notably excludes most top South Indian actresses, rounds up with Anushka Sharma, who commands Rs 8-12 crore per film, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, at Rs 10 crore per film.
These statistics aptly demonstrate the capabilities of the major Indian actresses in attracting fans and viewers as they break countless barriers and challenge the male-dominated film business.
