British model and entrepreneur Elizabeth Hurley sent all her fans in India into a tizzy when she donned a breathtaking saree designed by the late Rohit Bal. The showstopper outfit was presented at the Blenders Pride X FDCI Fashion Tour 2025, an event celebrating Bal’s work amidst industry icons like Sonam Kapoor and Kalyani Saha Chawla.
Sharing her look on social media, Elizabeth Hurley wrote, “Salaam Bombay! #bombaynights.” A floral printed crepe silk saree with a backless blouse made her look ethereal. The designer tagged the ensemble as the “Elegant Crepe Saree with Digital Floral Print” from his India wear collection; the piece is available on his website for retail at ₹ 49,999.
The chiffon saree is subdued yet stately in its ivory hue and features delicate florals with modern digital print. The multicolored stripe border gives a strikingly modern element to the very classical design while the traditional drape-a floor-grazing pallu-increases manifold in elegance.
The sleeveless blouse complemented the saree with an inverted V-neckline, a backless design secured with dori ties. Its structured fit was sensual and full of grace, hence appropriate for both formal occasions and festivals.
Elizabeth completed her look with pared-down yet striking accessories: a dainty choker and its matching earrings. Her hair was blowout soft in gentle waves, and the center part seemed sleek. Her makeup was effortlessly glamorous: smoky eyes, kohl-rimmed lashes, feathered brows, blushed cheeks, and glossy pink lips that completed the radiant look.
One of the most far-sighted talents in Indian fashion, the iconic Rohit Bal, died last November at the age of 63 years; his work-eloquent always in timeless elegance and intricate craftsmanship-continues to echo across the world. Elizabeth’s decision to wear his saree was a poignantly tasteful tribute to his artistry.
