Follow Kar Lo Yaar review: Is Urfi Javed our very own Desi ‘Kim Kardashian’? And call it that or not, this social media use is now a well-established part of the modern world.
The question that begs an answer is: What makes Urfi Javed popular? Though she admits that she is here for the fame, to make more money, and to develop herself into a brand.
Some years ago, there was this Urfi who came out of the Bigg Boss OTT show and quickly gained fame for her rather revealing dressing style.
These were provocative dresses, and she wore them with effect. The more you abuse her, the more she gains attention; you know the game, the more heat to her. So much as you like to hate her, you cannot and will not’shun this babe.
Now, she is out with her own show, Follow Kar Lo Yaar, which is the new web series on Prime Video, where she is presenting herself (along with her family) like never before. This nine-episode series, directed by Sandeep Kukreja, has the focus all set on Urfi Javed. As she herself will say in the very first episodic, very much a ratings-grossing TV binge-watch, this is: she loves the camera. It elates her when she is the focus when the cameras are on her.
The drama, the attention, the eyes—and as Diet Sabya lovingly terms it, ‘Urfication’—she’s sure wants it. From what we have observed her to be, in her interactions with the media and the paparazzi, Urfi Javed has no time for diplomacy; she only tells the truth.
She is well aware that more people despise her than support her; she is aware that to her, it is about the attention and the controversy, so let it be. She is a gold digger, but she is not going for the clichéd ‘gold digger’ way of living. She may be spoiled, naughty, and utterly out of control, but that is the most that can be said of her.
