Heist comedy ‘Crew’ opens strong, collects ₹6.3 Cr on day 1

After a promising launch, the caper comedy Crew, directed by Rajesh A Krishnan and starring some of the brightest stars the industry can boast, namely Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon, has gained positive write-ups after the release. According to the estimates noted during the initial stage, 6.3 crore INR was the figure obtained from the domestic box office on the first day, according to Sacnilk.com.

Nevertheless, “Crew” wins the hearts of its viewers and is perceived as more thrilling than the previous women-led by actress Kareena Kapoor. “Veere Di Wedding”, a 2018 film jointly produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor, garnered a remarkable revenue of ₹10.7 crore on its first day. But it is necessary to concede that when this film came on the screen, the epidemic had not yet started, and, therefore, it was the period of decline of cinema.

Now, it is more than expected for “Crew” to see the collection of its second-day experience a rise, as the reason for its soaring up is the good word-of-mouth circulation, the absence of any new release of Bollywood movies, and the ongoing holiday season.

Weave the story of three women employed in the ailing airline industry as the movie’s main plot. It is based on the complicated relationships that get stumbled upon by lying, deceiving, and sometimes people not knowing what they want in life.

In the director’s chair is Rajesh A. Krishnan, who was part of the crew that worked in the critically acclaimed film “Lootcase”; the film, which is jointly produced by Balaji Telefilms and Anil Kapoor Film & Communications Network, is from the production house of the same name. It can boast a great cast line-up: Tabu, alongside Kareena Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, and Diljit Dosanjh is also presented as another main cast member. With Kapil Sharma, Saswata Chatterjee, Rajesh Sharma, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda all playing key roles, the film deserves our attention.

Under the gripping plot and the vivid depiction of the characters, the female ones being strong and quick-faced, the “Crew” caught the eyes of the critics for the formulation of high-minded matters. The film gets praised by Hindustan Times’ reviewers as a breath of fresh air, truly brought in by the fabulous combination of humor and entertainment. Despite taking some funny twists in the story script, the movie is still very interesting and peculiar.

The progress throughout the weekend will probably be to witness the box office triumph of “The Crew” as moviegoers are highly expected to include themselves in the hilarious escapades of its big cast and the unusual storyline it brings about on the silver screen.
