This Independence Day weekend brought moviegoers two highly anticipated releases. Other films produced and directed by him include Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein. Stree 2 is a direct follow-up to the horror comedy hit released in 2018, with Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. Akshay Kumar is back in the comedy genre after five years with Khel Khel Mein. Both films have responded well; however, Akshay has become the star attraction.
People have appreciated his comic timing in Khel Khel Mein and his brief appearance in Stree 2. When Stree 2 premiered, fans immediately began heading to Twitter to give their opinions. Most of them were filled with happiness in the sense that the film delivered more than what was expected of it by Stree 1. A section of the viewers has jokingly compared Akshay to Thanos from Marvel movies since they found him influential in the shoot.
As Akshay goes on to explore more horrors with the sequel to Stree, if there is one fun cameo to look forward to, then it is Varun Dhawan, who returns as Jana, the cousin of Abhishek Banerjee’s character from Bhediya. But with two films giving tough competition to each other this festive weekend, the audience is definitely in for a bonanza.
