K-pop star Jennie Kim announces solo comeback in October.
K-pop idol Jennie Kim of the popular girl group BLACKPINK is set to release new music as a solo artist next month.
Jennie’s agency ODAATELIER revealed on September 8th that the singer had signed a partnership deal with American record label Columbia Records for an upcoming solo project. Her single will drop in October 2024.

Jennie debuted as a member of BLACKPINK in 2016, helping the band achieve immense popularity worldwide. In December 2023, the members embarked on individual activities after parting ways with longtime agency YG Entertainment.
However, YG will continue collaborating with BLACKPINK for future group comebacks scheduled for 2025, including new music and a world tour as per the founder.
Meanwhile, fellow members Lisa and Jisoo also formed their labels LLOUD and BLISSOO respectively in February 2024. Rose is signed to The Black Label, a YG subsidiary.
Jennie’s solo single marks her first musical release since leaving YG, heightening fans’ interest following BLACKPINK’s break for solo careers.
