Jennifer Lopez’s team on alert amid Diddy’s legal troubles, 1999 incident back in focus.
Troubles seem to be mounting for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs as more celebrities distance themselves after his arrest on sex crime charges. Jennifer Lopez‘s team is also said to be on high alert.
Sources stated JLo’s representatives are assessing how to respond if the 1999 Manhattan nightclub shooting case, which involved both singers, is revisited. An insider said the incident still pains Lopez who has spent years trying to forget it.
The shooting saw Diddy’s entourage engage in a brawl that led to gunfire injuries, including one woman. While Combs and Lopez fled, they were later detained but only Diddy faced trial and was acquitted.
As the charges against Combs date back decades, industry peers like Megan Fox, Usher, and Pink have reportedly wiped their social media clean of him.
Fox deleted all Instagram posts in a move connecting her to the scandal. Usher too removed posts, having alluded to witnessing “curious things” living with Diddy as a teen. Though no direct correlation is confirmed, the social media cleanups suggest celebrities want distance.
Lopez’s team is said to be strategizing to avoid any negative implications from the past shooting gaining renewed focus in current proceedings against Combs.
