Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan is spreading cheer amongst fans as the news of his next romantic comedy has finally released, promising to be the biggest love story of 2026. On Christmas Eve, filmmaker Karan Johar announced his collaboration for the movie titled Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. The news was abuzz and various leading actresses had been jostling to grab the chance of acting opposite Kartik Aaryan since then.
First reports said it would be Janhvi Kapoor opposite Varun, but word began to emerge pretty soon of it being a close call between Ananya Panday and Sharvari.
As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the project confirmed that Ananya Panday has bagged the role opposite Aaryan. The source said that both Aaryan and Johar wanted an actress who had great appeal to young audiences, and Panday’s earlier association with Aaryan in Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019) was a crucial factor in this decision.
“Kartik and Karan have been looking for an actress with a strong pull among the youth, and after contemplating various names, they have locked Ananya to play the female lead. Ananya and Kartik are a successful pair, and this will extend their partnership further,” the source stated.
This, apart from collaborating on Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, Sharvari will re-team with Aaryan. Revealing about their reunion plans, the source told, “While Ananya is doing Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, Kartik has promised another film to Sharvari. The duo will be teaming up on another love story by the end of 2025. Kartik is clear about maintaining good relationships with all his female co-stars, and he intends to fulfill promises made now.”
The upcoming Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is expected to start its shooting in May 2025 under the directorial supervision of Sameer Vidhwans, the same guy behind Satyaprem Ki Katha. Directed by Dharma Productions of Karan Johar and Namah Pictures, this movie is said to be releasing in theaters next year 2026.
On the cards for Ananya Panday are Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan in a new unnamed film to be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi that will narrate the unseen life of lawyer and former president of the Indian National Congress, C. Sankaran Nair, to hit theaters on March 14.
