The Princess of Wales made her first public engagement since cancer treatment on Thursday, accompanying her husband Prince William for a surprise visit to Southport.
Kate Middleton, 42, opted for a maroon polka-dotted dress and long coat as she walked alongside Prince William to meet families affected by a deadly knife attack at a dance event in July.
It marked her first public duty since ending chemotherapy. The royal couple met with bereaved relatives and dance teachers at the local community center.
Earlier this month, Middleton had returned to royal duties with an investiture engagement, her first since completing chemotherapy sessions for an unspecified cancer diagnosis announced in March.
She underwent surgery in January and continued treatment for nine months. In a heartfelt message then, the Princess spoke about finding perspective and navigating uncertainty on the cancer journey.
During Thursday’s visit, Middleton appeared happy and healthy as the royal couple offered support to the grieving community in the aftermath of the tragic incident.
It signifies Middleton’s recovery and return to public life after privately battling the ailment for months with family support.
