Khel Khel Mein crosses ₹10 Crore at the box office despite struggles

Akshay Kumar’s latest comedy-drama ‘Khel Khel Mein‘ seems to be facing a tough battle at the box office despite a weekend boost.

As per trade reports, the film managed to earn Rs. 3.75 crore on its first Sunday, taking its 4-day total collection to Rs. 13.95 crore. However, trade analyst Taran Adarsh felt the movie has shown no signs of a turnaround.

Starring an ensemble cast including Akshay, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, etc, ‘Khel Khel Mein’ premiered to a lukewarm response upon arrival. Despite bringing friends for a comedic night of dinner and secrets, the flick has not been able to generate strong word-of-mouth.

Meanwhile, John Abraham’s action thriller ‘Vedaa’ and Rajkummar Rao‘s horror-comedy ‘Stree 2’ continue giving it competition for eyeballs. While the clash has inevitably impacted numbers, Akshay maintains a cordial rapport with John.

With mixed reviews pouring in and crowded theaters this week, it remains to be seen if ‘Khel Khel Mein’ can pick up in its second weekend or fade away quietly at the box office. Much will depend on how the intriguing concept of revealed secrets plays out for mass audiences.
