Bollywood star Kriti Sanon opened up about how actors normally go through severe burnout while promoting multiple films together in quick succession. Speaking about her exhausting schedule, Kriti looked back at that grueling time when the promotions of Bhediya were on and how she was simultaneously managing a couple of other projects.
Kriti opens to Ranveer Allahabadia, “Promotions can be very tiring. I almost had a breakdown while promoting Bhediya.”. That year, I had two or three other releases, which only meant I was already in promotion mode multiple times before. We were touring different cities one after another, sometimes taking a night flight by charter and reaching a city to do interviews the next morning. By the end of it, Varun Dhawan and I had memorized each other’s answers.”
Describing her breakdown, Kriti said that on the last day of promotions, she had an emotional breakdown while getting ready to appear on a reality show: “I’m so tired; I cannot do this. I’m exhausted.” And that blunt admission sent the people around her speechless for a while, pointing to the impact such pressure may have on one’s mental health.
But Kriti does agree that it is not all hunky-dory in filmdom-the constant traveling, back-to-back events, and more. The stress does get to her sometimes. “Sometimes, I become rebellious. I’ll refuse to attend an award show. Once, I told my stylist I wouldn’t go for a photoshoot, and she said I’d have to buy the outfit if I didn’t go. So, I bought it. “Later, I realized it had dented my pocket,” she says with a dash of humor.
Besides the acting projects, Kriti has also ventured into production. She was recently seen in Do Patti, which was a Netflix release that featured her in a double role for the first time. This was not only her first attempt at being a producer but also her ability to experiment with new horizons of her career both in front of and behind the camera.
