Stree 2 smashes box office records, hailed by fans and critics.
The horror-comedy Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has achieved huge success at the box office, collecting a record-breaking Rs 54.35 crore on its opening day.
Released on Independence Day, the Amar Kaushik directorial has emerged as the biggest opener of 2022 so far, surpassing films like Kalki and Fighter.
Actor Kriti Sanon praised the Amar Kaushik directorial on Instagram, calling it a “laughter riot” and lauding performances and climactic twist.
The film has carried forward the success of 2018’s Stree. It continues the story seen in the prequel and features surprise cameos as well.
Stree 2 sees Rajkummar and Shraddha reprising their roles from the original as they help the town of Chanderi combat a new evil. Songs have also received positive response.
Reports say the film has exceeded all expectations through powerful word-of-mouth. Its success reiterates viewers’ faith in well-made horror comedies from Maddock Films.
Meanwhile, Kriti will soon be seen in Crew co-starring Kareena and Tabu. She has another project in the pipeline opposite Dhanush.
