Kriti Sanon shines in dual roles as producer and star in “Do Patti”

Kriti Sanon is all set to enter with a new challenge in “Do Patti,” where she plays identical twins, marking her first foray into this unique dual role. This upcoming Netflix project has already garnered eyeballs for the classic good-versus-evil twin theme, with sibling rivalry and jealousy central to the plot. However, real-life witnesses Kriti and her little sister, Nupur Sanon, share a very healthy bond as there is no sibling rivalry between them despite the common comparisons being drawn between the two sisters.

Kriti revealed that though the industry pits them against each other, it has failed to dent their bonding. But she did admit to getting “irritated” due to the different approaches of some of the relatives. Nothing has trickled down to the extent where our feelings towards each other have changed. I haven’t felt that, at least not yet. I mean, when I came into this, Nupur was way younger and not in Mumbai, and I just felt some relatives who treat us, you know, like that. That did piss me off,” she said.

Although such comparisons did not seem to faze Nupur, Kriti confessed they annoyed her. “When we visited relatives, they treated and wished us differently on birthdays. I found that immature. Nupur is very strong and mature for her age. Even when something bothers her, she doesn’t show it,” Kriti added.

“Do Patti” is a film in which Kriti makes her maiden outing as a producer. Recounting the experience, Kriti says, “My mind was in different places, but that’s not solely because I was producing the film. I am naturally an observer and an over-thinker; I always have something or the other on my mind. I believe in speaking up rather than holding it all within myself.

The actress, popular for the television serial “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” claimed that because she had been involved in the film since the scripting stage, she could connect with the story better than in any of her other films. “But I don’t think becoming a producer has changed my perception of actors,” she clarified.

“Do Patti” can be termed a woman’s film, written and co-produced by Kanika Dhillon. Kriti mentioned the presence of ladies in the industry, “Kajol ma’am might have seen more drastic changes. I wouldn’t say I’ve seen more drastic changes in the last decade; it has been the same. There were women assistant directors in my first film, too. But the more women on the sets, the more the point of view comes from both male and female perspectives, making it safer and more creative.”
