Pankaj Udhas, who was 73 old, died on Sunday, 19th January 2020, due to his longstanding illness. The news has been confirmed to Bollywood Hungama by his daughter, Nayaab.
“We regret to inform you that our respected teacher, Padmashri Pankaj Udhas, ki reduction in healthify ni, a mat main, ka 26th February 2024,” the family statement expressed.
With the release of his first great album, ‘Aahat,’ in 1980 and a series of successful albums, including ‘Mukarar’ in 1981,’ Tarrannum’ in 1983, and ‘Pankaj Udhas Live at Royal Albert Hall in 1984, his career evolved into an illustrious one.
His honors became more distinguished when he got the great opportunity to sing the memorable song ‘Chitthi Aayi Hai’ from the 1986 film ‘Naam’ by Mahesh Bhatt, which became a super hit almost instantly.
Pankaj Udhas was established further in the singing arena here in India and abroad through films and albums in Hindi following successful live performances at different locations.
