Mallika Sherawat opens up about facing rejection from A-list heroes.
Actress Mallika Sherawat, known for her role in ‘Murder’ made headlines with her bold image early in her career.
In a past interview with Hindustan Times, she revealed why her career didn’t see further success expected after her debut.
Sherawat stated A-list heroes refused to work with her as she wouldn’t “compromise”. She said producers prefer actresses they can control and who will submit to their demands.
The actress elaborated that compromising meant being available anytime on their calls, even at odd hours, to socialize, otherwise projects would be lost.
She has always been outspoken about difficulties faced professionally due to not obliging to such practices rampant in the industry.
In another interview with Bollywood Bubble, Sherawat opened up about facing bullying from a certain media section which bothered her deeply.
However, she mentioned the media and audience today are more accepting and loving towards her, which she appreciates.
The actress, born Reema Lamba, changed her name and left home to pursue acting aspirations. She tied the knot briefly in early life as well.
Sherawat has remained vocal about navigating careers sans compromising one’s dignity, facing resistance for the same.
