During a recent appearance on a talk show on Film Companion, Mira Rajput, the Indian actress and wife to Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, defended herself on her previous statements where she compared babies to puppies she received backlashes on social media.
The skincare industry is relatively new for Rajput, who has recently ventured into it with her line of products. While she later acknowledged that her words were ‘unfair,’ she added that she had come a long way about her transformation.
“While I was cornered like that, I guess I’m regressive then, but I probably did act out speaking things… I don’t think I stand for them now,”
she noted the criticisms.
The 28-year-old went on to elaborate that she was a novice and was not only in an emotionally fragile state but was also merely attempting to justify being a stay-at-home mom.
“I can understand why people took it that way,” Rajput said about the show’s content and her part in it, “I think I was just trying to sort of stand up for myself that my decision is also right,” she added, “I wish I didn’t do that and I know that a lot of people were affected by it.”
In expressing gratitude towards the hub,by Shahid Kapoor for his support during this period, Rajput said that it is now time to forgive her for this mistake because life has a cycle in which you make and learn from them.
Rajput specifically had irked audiences in 2017 when she said surrogacy was okay but called her daughter ‘not a puppy’ and asked working mothers what they were doing ‘roaming around making money’.
Those are the lovely times that can rarely be spared, the moments that cannot be measured in money or time. When she said at the Women’s Day function that she would not like to spend one hour a day with her child only to rush to work why did she have her? She is not a dog.
Mira Rajput and Shahid Kapoor have been together since 2015 with their marriage. Kalki had their daughter Misha in 2016 and their son Zain in 2018.
