MTV roadies returns: Rhea Chakraborty’s empowering comeback

MTV Roadies is back with yet another electrifying season that will keep the fans on their toes as never before. The show will be hosted by the iconic Rannvijay Singha and the new season, titled MTV Roadies Double Cross, has a fantastic lineup of gang leaders, with Prince Narula, Neha Dhupia, Rhea Chakraborty, and Elvish Yadav. Since it went on air on January 11, it has created enough buzz among the viewers, who are eager to share their favorite moments online.

Recently, Rhea Chakraborty discussed an important issue with one of the contestants. Her words struck a chord when she said, “Ilzaam lagana thik hai, rumours hote hai, bohot saari cheezein hoti hai, aap limelight mein nahi ho, aap hoge toh aap pe bhi hongi acchi hongi, buri hongi,” stating that accusations and rumors are all part of the game in being in the limelight. Innocent till proven guilty. Agar hum India mein rehta hai toh uss court of law ko manana chahiye,” highlighting the importance of the legal system.

Sheikh Rannvijay remarked, reacting to her thoughts: “Kaafi law padh liya hai, Rhea.” She reacted very humorously with a quip, saying “It’s a touchy topic, sir.” The host just laughed in reaction.

Rhea Chakraborty’s journey has been tumultuous since her arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau in September 2020 on drug-related charges linked to the tragic death of her former boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput. This incident led to a wave of public backlash, intense trolling, and a significant impact on her mental health and career. After spending nearly a month in custody, she was granted bail by the Bombay High Court.

After a long gap, Rhea returned to the small screen with MTV Roadies in 2023. Rannvijay recently spoke to News18 Showsha about her return and said, “She knows who she is because she was in the worst kind of situation, but she stood that storm. I don’t know if I were in a situation like that, what would I do because I haven’t been in one. Her being on Roadies gives a lot of people power.

Asides from the drama series Roadies, Rhea has also recently launched a podcast titled Chapter 2 along with a clothing brand of the same name in collaboration with her brother, Showik Chakraborty.
