Mukesh Gautam wins national award, Yami Gautam expresses pride

On Tuesday, the 70th National Film Awards were held at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi to honor the best contribution to Indian cinema. Recipients included Best Punjabi Feature Film as a director, Mukesh Gautam, father of actress Yami Gautam, for Baghi Di Dhee.

Yami took to social media to express her pride and joy as she watched her father receive the prestigious award from home. She shared pictures of Mukesh at the ceremony and wrote a heartwarming note congratulating him on his achievement.

“Such a moment of emotions when my father, Shri Mukesh Gautam, as a director, received his first National Award for Baghi Di Dhee. Words can’t touch what I feel. Such a proud daughter,” Yami captioned. She shared the tough journey of her father toward the top, with passion and integrity not faltering at any point in time. “Your family is proud of you, papa. Special mention to @rabindra.narayan and @jasrajsinghbhatti for being such a fab team, ” she further said.

Other recipients who will receive tonight include Mithun Chakraborty, Manasi Parekh, Rishab Shetty, Sathish Krishnan, and Pritam, felicitated by President Droupadi Murmu in tonight’s event.

On the professional front, Yami Gautam last appeared in a political action thriller, Article 370, in which she shared screen space with Priyamani and Arun Govil.
