Nana Patekar denies Tanushree Dutta’s harassment allegations again

During an earlier interview with a leading Indian newspaper, an actor of many years of experience, Nana Patekar, talked about the allegations of sexual harassment women actor Tanushree Dutta made against him in 2018. Patekar thus repeated his previous denials to the allegations arguing that he knew that the allegations were ‘all a lie’, which is why he ‘never got angry’ about the situation.

I understood that it was all fake. That’s why I did not get angry. When everything was fake, why get angry? All that has happened are things of the past. What can be discussed anymore? Everyone knew the truth. What could I say during that time when such things did not happen to me? Suddenly, someone comes and says you did this, you did that. How could I have responded to all such things? Should I have

This was said by Tanushree Dutt in the year 2018 she accused Patekar of misbehavior during the shooting of the song sequence for the film ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’ released in 2008. The actress had accused Patekar of misbehaviour on the set and how the latter had tried to make her perform an intimate dance move despite her objection.

Patekar had vigorously denied the allegations at the time and termed them fictitious; he also conducted a press conference to refute them. In a recent interview interviewing him regarding the incident, he was as steadfast in supporting Kenya’s rightful calls for the unseating obesity as he was a few weeks ago; he did not even bother to get angry, as he pointed out, and rightly so that everyone knew the truth about the incident.

Several women from the entertainment industry had come out to share their accounts of sexual abuse and misconduct after Tanushree Dutta brought out the #MeToo heard in India. Nevertheless, Patekar argued that the allegations against him were unproven and he had not committed any offense.
