Nayanthara thanks industry peers amid Dhanush controversy

The Lady Superstar Nayanthara has been in the news recently after she penned a public letter to actor-filmmaker Dhanush over the issue of BTS footage from the 2015 film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. In her letter, she called out Dhanush for not providing an NOC to her documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale.

Amidst the controversy, Nayanthara thanked prominent industry seniors like Shah Rukh Khan, Chiranjeevi, and Ram Charan for readily giving NOCs without any hesitation.

Nayanthara wrote in her open letter, “Our documentary has now been released, and every film I have done means a lot in my life. I wanted to include memories and scenes from those films in our documentary. “When I approached the following producers to obtain No Objection Certificates, they gave them without any delay. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of them.” She also thanked Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, among many others from the Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil film industries.

She further added, “Thank you for sharing a slice of my most treasured professional moments. Your unwavering support during these times deeply moves me. I will always cherish this kindness with immense gratitude, and may our journey together continue, finding happiness in other people’s happiness.”

In contrast, the letter from Nayanthara to Dhanush stated that he had threatened a legal notice claiming Rs 10 crore for a three-second behind-the-scenes clip filmed on personal devices during the making of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. She manifested her “shock” over the claims by Dhanush: “We were startled to read your assertion regarding the usage of videos that are already publicly available on social media, demanding such a high sum for just three seconds. That is the all-time low from you and speaks volumes about your character.”

Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale premiered on Netflix on November 18, 2024, coinciding with the actress’s birthday, and is now streaming.
