Parvati Nair faces abuse allegations amid theft controversy

Mollywood actress Parvati Nair, last seen in the movie GOAT, is under a probe over allegations that she abused one of her former workers, Subhash. A case was registered based on a complaint filed by Subhash, who had been serving as a helper at KJR Studios and the actress’s residence. Responding to the allegation, Nair has addressed the situation via her social media page.

Nair said she has faced the worst harassment in the last two years, starting from October 2022, after there was a theft at her residence. “A theft of Rs 18 lakh valuables at my residence compelled me to lodge a police complaint. A case was registered against four, including Mr. Subhash,” she said. Nair further alleged that upon knowing about the complaint, Subhash demanded that his name be removed from the list of the accused, threatening retaliation if she refused.

Nair further alleged that within a few days of sacking Subhash from the production house, he filed a false counter-complaint against her. She also said that he misled the media with defamatory complaints, ruining her reputation. She further stated he breached her privacy by releasing the unpublished photographs of her to the press as part of the harassment campaign.

Nair said that thereafter, one more complaint was filed against Subhash for these infractions, which resulted in the remanding of the accused to judicial custody. The police have filed a final report, and the proceedings are pending before the Learned Judicial Magistrate – XIV, Egmore. She filed a civil suit for defamation, wherein an interim injunction given by the court has restrained Subhash and others from issuing such defamatory statements against her.

The actress then denied Subhash’s accusations, adding that she acted against him on nondiscriminatory grounds: “I want to categorically state that I do not discriminate on the basis of caste. I was completely unaware of Mr. Subhash’s caste until I received this notice,” she clarified.

Nair has also accused Subhash of trying to extort Rs 1 crore and issuing threats to her life in previous communications with the production house. She told how this incident is taking a heavy toll on her mental health and thanked everyone for believing in her.

To put it in context, a watch, laptop, camera, and mobile phone went missing one after another when Subhash was in service, which forced Nair to file a theft case against him. At the same time, he has seriously accused her of abusive behavior.
