Pragya Jaiswal ecstatic over ‘Daaku Maharaaj’ success: ‘couldn’t have hoped for better’

Pragya Jaiswal Shines in ‘Daaku Maharaaj‘ Amid Stiff Competition. Actress Reflects on Film’s Success and Working with Veteran Co-Star Balakrishna

MUMBAI: Actress Pragya Jaiswal is riding high on the success of her latest release, ‘Daaku Maharaaj,’ which has managed to perform exceptionally well at the box office despite facing stiff competition from other releases like ‘Game Changer’ and ‘Sankranthiki Vasthunam.’

The release of ‘Daaku Maharaaj’ coincided with Pragya Jaiswal’s birthday, making the occasion even more special for the actress. The film’s blockbuster performance in terms of box-office collections has further added to Pragya’s excitement and joy.

In the film, Pragya Jaiswal portrayed the character of Kaveri, an engineer-turned-vigilante, which was a departure from her previous roles. Shedding light on her character, the actress shared, “No one imagined me as dark, and now people are calling me dark maharani.

She’s so accomplished, de-glam, hair tied up…it was a different ball game to play Kaveri. She’s so different from anything I’ve ever done before that I was worried when the film was released about how people would receive it.”

One of the primary reasons why Pragya Jaiswal said yes to the film was the “powerful” role of a pregnant woman who also has to engage in action sequences to protect her unborn child and fight for a cause that highlights the strength of women in general.

Pragya Jaiswal also addressed the age gap between her and her co-star, veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, with whom she collaborated for the second time. Calling him respectful, collaborative, and a “nice person,” the actress shared that there is a lot to learn from him.

Addressing the growing age gap between male stars and their female leads, Pragya opined that casting is done based on the role, and as long as justice is done to the story and character, there is nothing to talk about.

With her powerful performance in ‘Daaku Maharaaj’ and the film’s impressive run at the box office, Pragya Jaiswal has once again proven her versatility and talent as an actress.
