Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies has been finalized as India’s official entry for Oscars 2025.
The movie is looking at a nomination in the Best Foreign Film category. Laapataa Ladies stars Pratibha Ranta, Natashia Goel, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan.
Pratibha Ranta, who played Jaya Singh, described the feat as ‘an invitation to international viewers’ to experience the brilliance of Indian cinema.
I am ecstatic that ‘Lapataa Ladies’ has emerged as the Indian official entry to the Oscars! This film is special to me, more so personally, because of the character of Jaya.
The movie resonates with anyone in any part of the world, doing justice to the themes of love, loss, and finding and thus relating to individuality.
For me, this film will be a cause for celebration-it celebrates our culture and invites the international viewer into the richness of Indian storytelling. I am very grateful to be part of such an important project!
Laapataa Ladies is a film about two young brides who get on the wrong train. Pratibha plays Jaya Singh, and Sparsh Shrivastava plays Deepak Kumar.
Nitanshi Goel portrays Phool. Kiran Rao directed the movie, which Aamir Khan produced.
The one thing that favored the film when it was released was the admiration and appreciation bestowed upon the new actresses Pratibha, Nitanshi, and Sparsh.
Pratibha iwill soonbe seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi,, too. Since the film’s release, she has collected a massive fan following, which has generated immense interest in the actress’s life.
