The highly anticipated Sukumar film, Pushpa 2: The Rule, has hit the box office like a storm with Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil. In fact, it has collected over ₹600 crore within three days of its worldwide release. This was confirmed by trade analyst Ramesh Bala, who reported that this amount has created new records for Indian cinema.
According to Sacnilk.com, Pushpa 2 netted ₹10.65 crore during its premieres on December 4. The film then garnered ₹164.25 crore, ₹93.8 crore, and ₹119.25 crore on its first Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, respectively. That keeps its total net collection in India at ₹387.95 crore, with a gross of ₹463.9 crore.
On Sunday morning, Ramesh Bala tweeted that Pushpa 2 had grossed over ₹600 crore in a record three days, making it the fastest film to achieve this collection in Indian cinema. Some estimates indicate the possibility of the movie crossing ₹800 crore plus by the close of the opening weekend.
To celebrate the film’s success, the Pushpa 2 team held a press conference in Hyderabad on Saturday evening. Producer Ravi Kumar of Mythri Movie Makers described the film as “the madness of two people, the whole world is witnessing it now.” Allu Arjun added, “We are a simple and small regional film industry. To grow from there, year by year, and to make India’s highest grosser now isn’t easy.”
Pushpa 2: The Rule is a continuation of the 2021 prequel, Pushpa: The Rise. Arjun’s character, Pushpa Raj, has transformed into a red sanders smuggler and the syndicate’s leader. His rivalry with police officer Bhanwar Singh Shekawat, played by Fahadh, escalates to new heights. Fans are already looking forward to the next installment, Pushpa 3, titled The Rampage.
