Rajkummar Rao discusses pressure and rumours about Appearance

All feel celebrity pressures, says actor Rajkummar Rao.

Actor Rajkummar Rao talked about image scrutiny faced by film celebrities in a recent interview. Promoting his upcoming movie ‘Srikanth’, he reflected on the constant vigil faced in the public domain as an actor.

Rajkummar noted that ‘it’s the same’ for male actors regarding physical appearance judgements as females. He recounted how random photos from wrong angles can invite trolling despite one’s effort always to look presentable.

Airports pose issues with paparazzi lurking for less-than-flattering shots, admitted the actor.

Earlier, denying plastic surgery rumours following a ‘flawless-looking’ photo online, Rajkummar explained photos can be digitally modified. While getting chin fillers 8-9 years ago for confidence, he clarified it didn’t impact his craft.

The acclaimed actor’s resume includes impactful roles over the years through diligence, not external attributes alone. However, unrealistic expectations and vicious analyses plague celebrities without differentiating art from artists.

Upcoming projects for Rajkummar are ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ with Jahnvi Kapoor followed by ‘Srikanth’ co-starring Alaya F. He seeks admirers’ focus on his talent over trivialities. As scrutiny intensifies, balancing professionalism and well-being poses unique challenges to public figures.
