Rashami Desai Recounts Harrowing Casting Couch Experience.
In a candid revelation, acclaimed television actress Rashami Desai has come forward to share her traumatic encounter with the casting couch at the tender age of 16.
The Uttaran star, known for her powerful performances, bravely opened up about the horrific incident during a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble.
Desai recounted being called for an audition, where she found herself alone with the alleged perpetrator. “I was just 16 back then, and he tried to get me unconscious,” the actress said, visibly shaken by the memory. “I was uncomfortable and somehow managed to come out from there, and later, after a few hours, I told everything to my mother.”
According to Desai, her mother’s swift intervention proved to be a saving grace. “The next day, I went to meet him with my mother, and my mother had slapped him to teach a lesson,” she revealed.
The Dil Se Dil Tak star acknowledged that the casting couch is a prevalent issue in the industry, stating, “Casting a couch is a real thing, but then, every industry is about good and bad people.”
However, Desai expressed gratitude for the positive experiences she has had with “some fabulous people” during her career.
The actress, known for her participation in popular reality shows like Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 6, Nach Baliye 7, Bigg Boss 13, and Bigg Boss 15, has demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of adversity.
