In a highly anticipated reveal, Bollywood actress Rashmika Mandanna has shared her first look from the upcoming period drama ‘Chhaava.’ The actor will be essaying the role of Maharani Yesubai, the wife of the Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, in the film.

The posters shared by the makers, Maddock Films, showcase Rashmika in a stunning avatar. Adorned in a saree and heavy jewelry, the actress is seen covering her head and sporting a radiant smile in the first poster. In the second poster, her expression takes on a more solemn tone, befitting the grandeur of her character.

‘Chhaava’ is a period drama that stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, playing the part of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Produced by Maddock Films and directed by Laxman Utekar, the film is touted as a “stirring tale of the courageous warrior whose coronation on this day in 1681 marked the beginning of a legendary reign.”

In a recent speech at the CNN-News18’s Indian Of The Year Awards, where Vicky Kaushal was honored with the Youth Icon Of 2024 award, the actor expressed his excitement and trepidation about portraying the historical figure.

Every opportunity like this, when you get a great man like Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, it is a beautiful opportunity to understand their culture, their history, their values, their beliefs, and their love for the country,” he said.

‘Chhaava’ is set to hit the theaters on February 14, 2023, and the much-anticipated trailer is scheduled to be released on Wednesday. Fans of period dramas and Rashmika Mandanna are eagerly awaiting the film’s release, eager to witness the actress’ captivating performance as Maharani Yesubai.
