Saiyami Kher leaves no stone unturned in preparation for the Ironman Triathlon.
Actor Saiyami Kher is hoping the third time’s the charm as she ramps up training for the grueling Ironman triathlon in Germany this September. Having previously trained for the event scheduled in 2020 and 2021, disruptions due to the pandemic and an accident stalled her effort to conquer the mammoth endurance feat.
In a chat with Hindustan Times, Kher detailed her rigorous six-month regimen, which encompasses open-water swimming, cycling, and running thrice a week each.
The 31-year-old travels long hours to locations outside Mumbai to cycle and swim owing to the city’s infrastructure constraints.
With training totaling 14-15 hours weekly, she finds solace in songs while running solo sessions that do not allow music to play.
Juggling arduous preparation with professional commitments isn’t easy, admits Kher, crediting sports with keeping her mentally fit in the volatile film industry.
Hoping to emerge as a champion triathlete, the actor aspires to motivate her peers to embrace fitness as an outlet.
Having portrayed strong women in reel life, Kher walks the talk by pushing her physical limits with each sweat-soaked practice routine towards the international competition season’s biggest test.
As the September date inches closer, fervent well-wishers will cheer the braveheart’s third attempt at clinching an Ironman title.
