Salman Khan has made a couple of moves in enhancing security at his Mumbai home, Galaxy Apartments. Just a few days ago, a video emerged on social media that captured the blue sheet covering the balcony of his apartment, which was confirmed to be bulletproof glass. This development comes in the wake of various death threats leveled against the actor, most particularly from the gang of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
The heightened security are in response to a frightening incident in April 2024 where gun shots were fired outside Khan’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai. It was later reported that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was responsible, and Anmol Bishnoi, the gangster’s brother, went on Facebook and claimed to be the one who shot into Khan’s residence.
The tension added further was when the Mumbai Traffic Police started receiving ransom messages from the gang for the “forgiveness” of Salman in the form of Rs 5 crore. The ultimatum had a chilling threat of being met with a fate “worse than Baba Siddique,” who was tragically shot dead in Mumbai on October 12, 2024.
In reaction to these alarming developments, Salman Khan has upgraded his security. In October 2024, he purchased a bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV for almost Rs 2 crore directly imported from Dubai. His security was enhanced further through safety measures being arranged outside Bigg Boss 18 sets by the Mumbai Film city. News states that a security team headed by Khan had an extra eight to ten more armed officers stationed along with special command centers formed at his home under the supervision of the Mumbai police.
Salman Khan is gearing up for his next film, Sikandar, which is being directed by Sajid Nadiadwala and AR Murugadoss. The film is scheduled to be released during Eid 2025. The film features Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, Sharman Joshi, and Kajal Aggarwal in key roles.
