Salman Khan faces new threat from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has once again come under renewed threats, and this time around, the intimidation comes from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. A new threat is received via the Mumbai traffic control room from a man who claimed to be Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother. The man threatened Salman to either pay Rs 5 crore or seek forgiveness at a temple connected to the Bishnoi community.

The message to the police went: “This is Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother. Salman Khan should go to our temple and apologize or pay Rs 5 crore if he wants to stay alive. If he does not comply, we will kill him; our gang is still active.” Claims about the sender’s identity cannot be independently verified so far.

Lawrence Bishnoi was said to be targeting Salman Khan. A case of poaching blackbucks that lasted 26 years from 1998 related to Salman’s filming of Hum Saath-Saath Hain in Rajasthan led to the arrest of many people, bail hearings, and different verdicts. Salman later said that he had seen a herd of blackbucks while filming.

In the aftermath of continuous threats, Salman Khan has greatly increased his security. This decision was taken after the shooting incident that occurred at his residence some time back in the year and also the murder of his friend, political leader Baba Siddique.
