Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated series, “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, a Web Series based on the rich tradition of hand-crafted Indian diamonds, is set to be released on Netflix today, which will be Mr Avarimadak’s first production to step into the realm of OTT platforms. The eventful drama has a starry cast, with the actors Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Sehgal, Richa Chadha, and Sanjeeda Sheikh in lead roles.
In her recent interview with Rediff.com, Aditi Rao Hydari facinated me with her exciting workings with Bhansali. The actress said that the director did that on purpose, asking her to go without lunch before appearing in a scene intended as an emotional climax. She referred to this scene:
“Yesterday, Sanjay sir did not let me eat anything just to make sure I can portray a character overflowing with energy.
He said:
“Don’t have your lunch today,” which helped me notice how I was filled with injustice
Hydari didn’t keep a secret on an occasion when Bhansali was also under lockdown. By remembering his words, she was reminded that the first thing he said was, “Vait chalayee, khaana honam.” Thus, he fed her a delicious meal.
Mentioning Bhansali’s direction, Siddiqui described that he provides a lot of space to actors and advises them to dig out their magic. She praised him for his constant thirst for development and for convincing the whole staff of his visions.
“Heeramandi: It is envisaged that “The Diamond Bazaar” will be a visually evoking and engaging series by the ensemble cast taking the audience under the masterful guided stroke of Bhansali.
